Course description
This Tui Na course is a continuation of the Level 1 course with Jonas Brenner. This classical Tui Na system was developed by generals and martial arts masters and differs from the modern Tui Na taught in schools today. It represents a complete healing system for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal injury, and internal disorders.
These methods have a long and rich history, developed by generals and martial arts masters in China and were known for their speed and efficiency in producing dramatic results in resolving musculoskeletal disorders. Traditionally transmitted in family lineages, or from master to disciple of martial arts, this art is largely lost today in China.
The course consists of four levels, each building on the previous. This course, consisting of three weekends, builds on the Level 1 course that introduced this classical Tui Na system and taught all basic hand techniques Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2 to 4.
The topics of Level 2 to 4 are the following:
Level 2
Introduces specific treatments for upper limb conditions. Building on the concepts and techniques introduced in the previous level, additional hand techniques are incorporated into treatments that emphasize a global approach to treatment. Also Dao Yin exercises are learned.
Level 3
Introduces conditions of the back and lower limb. These treatments are a natural extension of the Back Protocol introduced in Level One. The back and lower abdomen are, for all intents and purposes, the beginning of the legs. A new set of Qi Gong is learned, to work specific on three sections of the spine
Level 4
Introduces the treatment of internal conditions. More subtle and difficult hand techniques are introduced which focus on the internal organs and emphasize the organ regulating aspects of tuina to treat Asthma, Hypertension and more. In this level, Vibrating Qi Gong is taught.
This Tuina massage style can be applied alone or is easily blended in with other styles of massage and of course along with other therapies of Chinese medicine.
