Day one: Acupuncture with Children

  • how to choose the acupuncture points, insert needles, stimulate Qi, and relate with children and parents

  • how to evaluate and treat children who run all the time, are impulsive, very angry and opposing, have difficulties in attention, or have an ADHD diagnosis

  • evaluation and treatment discussion of atopic dermatitis in paediatrics

 

Day two: Pediatric Tuina Clinical Practice

  • review of the main patterns and paediatric tuina methods

  • treatment of children brought by participants

  • discussion of cases treated at the participants’ clinic

  • treatment strategies for babies born via assisted reproductive technologies (ART).

About the Teacher

Dr. Elisa Rossi

  • Acupuncturist, Psychotherapist 

  • MD, Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, B.A. in Philosophy

  • After a 3-year Course in Acupuncture in Milan, in 1983 Elisa obtained the "TCM Training Course Certificate" in Beijing. Since then she went back to China 8 more times, for one or two months, gaining clinical experience in the TCM Departments of Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Jinan.

  • In 1985 Elisa started practicing Taijiquan with Ermanno Cozzi and Qigong with Li Xiaoming in 1989. In 1992 she spent 2 months in Beijing studying with dr. Lu Guangyun, director of Qigong Department of Xiyuan Hospital.

  • In 1994, together with a group of 9 acupuncturists, Elisa founded the School of TCM “MediCina”, and from 1996 she is a certified FISA acupuncture teacher.

  • From 2002 to 2007 she was President of FISTQ, the Italian Federation of Schools of Tuina and Qigong, of which she is now Scientific Director.

  • From 2006 she is member of Milano Medical Board for Non-Conventional Medicine.

  • Elisa cooperates with Agopuntura Senza Frontiere ASF: volunteered in the training in Madagascar in 2008 , in Laos in 2010, and in Tanzania in 2012.

  • Beside her professional activity with adults, since 2005 she runs Xiaoxiao, in Milan, an Acupuncture and Tuina Childrens' Centre, with pilot-projects for prevention and cure of winter respiratory diseases and for hyperkinetic children.
